The New York Knicks trade for Jose Alvarado deserves serious praise. I’m giving the Knicks an A+ for this move because it addresses depth, preserves cap flexibility, and protects the rotation without overpaying.

This Knicks trade for Jose Alvarado solves a real problem. With Miles McBride injured and the team tight against the second apron, New York added energy, ball pressure, and reliable guard depth at an affordable number. That’s smart team building. It’s not flashy—but it’s disciplined.

The New Orleans Pelicans, on the other hand, leave more questions than answers. Yes, they recouped draft assets. But what is the direction? Competing? Rebuilding? Waiting? The Pelicans continue to feel stuck between timelines.

Did the Knicks just quietly strengthen a playoff rotation while New Orleans drifts?
