Seven people are dead and 20 others wounded after a bomb in a parked car exploded late Friday in the central Iraqi city of Ramadi.

The blast killed mostly women in the residential area about 60 miles west of Baghdad.

Five of the wounded are still in critical condition.

While violence has eased in Iraq since its peak in 2006, more than 200 people were killed and 600 wounded in attacks last month,

making June the bloodiest month since U.S. troops withdrew in December.
