STORY: Libyan interim government fighters say they arrested 15 men on Monday (October 17) who they believe are foreign mercenaries fighting for former leader Muammar Gaddafi in Sirte.
Gaddafi loyalists have been under siege in the town for weeks.
National Transitional Council (NTC) forces maintained their bombardment of a small area in the center of the town where they believed the remaining Gaddafi fighters were boxed in.
They said the men they detained were in Gaddafi positions in an area of the town known as "Section 2".
Gaddafi's hometown has been one of only two towns in Libya where there is still armed resistance to NTC rule.
