Sleepy Hall & His Collegians - The Honeymoon Parade

John "Sleepy" Hall, was a banjo player who went to Yale, in 1924. He led the Yale Banjo Club, entertained with his band there and also toured. Rudy Vallée also was in his band at one time and recorded with Hall. He had an exceptional custom-made banjo made for him by Bacon Banjo Co. In this case however, the credits my not refer to the actual banjoist. This pseudonym was used by several orchestras, a.o. by Gene Kardos, Adrian Schubert, Victor Young and an ARC studio band. In this case it might be an Adrian Schubert session but it is anything but sure. However, a certainty is the great vocal is by Smith Ballew. The recording was made in 1931.
