Shen Yun's run of shows in New Zealand is now underway for a four show run. As our correspondents report... New Zealand's most renowned conductor came for the third year in a row.

In October last year, Auckland's Symphony Orchestra Director and Conductor, Gary Daverne was awarded the highest honor that can be given to any New Zealand entertainer: The prestigious 'Benny' Award.

Mr. Daverne is New Zealand's most internationally acclaimed composer, arranger and orchestral conductor. His work involves conducting for many major International Orchestras including the Shanghai Symphony, London's Royal Philharmonic, and the Czech Republic's Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mr Daverne returns to see Shen Yun Performing Arts, the world's premier classical Chinese dance and music company. It's the third year in a row he's attended.

[Gary Daverne, Conductor]:
"It's an experience. It is a real experience. You just don't see shows like this every day. I've seen shows all around the world and this show ranks high up there with them all. It's a great show.

"I just love the costumes, I love the color, I love the energy, I love the music... everything about it.

"The backdrop is amazing. Technically, it's stunning. It's stunning. I've never seen anything like that before in any show."
