Gene Kardos Orchestra-The Roses Are Red,The Violets Are Blue
  • 15 years ago
Although largely forgotten today, Gene Kardos' orchestra had a pretty advanced sound, announcing the swing period. None of the soloists are too well-known (trombonist Pete Salemi comes the closest), but the band is quite strong, with exciting ensembles and purposeful solos. This great record was made in 1932. The vocal remained uncredited, but is Dick Robertson.
