Burchall (né Gilbert Sidney McIntosh) was born in 1893 in Manchester, UK, but emigrated in 1912 to Australia where, after a career as a salesman, was cast in 1921 for a role in "Chu Chin Chow"; many leading roles would follow. In 1931, Burchall returned to the UK, leaving his family in Australia. In the 1930's-1950's he mainly worked for radio programs. I also appeared in several shorts and feature films. He suddenly died in 1960. This great record, however, was made in 1927.
