Facelifted Opel Corsa Brings More Power and Range, New Opel Corsa Electric 2024

Opel's fully electric subcompact hatchback is also changing its Corsa-e name to Corsa Electric.

The sporty Corsa Electric, Opel's latest design language that makes it resemble a smaller Astra Electric, has a refreshed exterior and an updated interior with more technology.

From the outside, the 2024 Corsa Electric gains the Opel Vizor brand face, which seamlessly combines the vehicle grille, LED headlights and the central Opel Blitz into a single element. Additionally, the LED headlights and front bumper have been redesigned for a sportier look.

Speaking of headlights, the optional glare-free Intelli-Lux LED matrix headlights have been improved, now with 14 LED elements compared to eight before the facelift. The only update visible at the rear is the Corsa lettering on the trunk lid.

Other minor visual updates include a black roof (depending on trim level), new Graphic Gray paint and Opel logo in black or matt satin silver finish.

Visually, the interior looks largely the same as before, with major updates such as new seat patterns, new gear lever and new steering wheel design.

The main highlight is the optional fully digital cockpit based on Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms, which brings a new infotainment system and up to a 10-inch touchscreen that offers information in a clearer layout. The new interface brings advanced graphics, multimedia, computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

Other features include connected services for the navigation system, natural speech recognition “Hey Opel” and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also come standard on the Corsa for the first time. A new, high-resolution panoramic rearview camera has also been added.

The 2024 Opel Corsa Electric has also received upgrades in the powertrain department, adopting the latest single-motor layout recently introduced in other Stellantis products, including the Opel Mokka Electric, Peugeot e-2008 and more.

The main benefit of the more powerful electric powertrain is an improved lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 54 kilowatt-hours, which increases range by up to 250 miles (402 kilometers) in the WLTP cycle.

Customers will be able to choose between two electric drive options, one with 134 horsepower (100 kilowatts) and a range of 222 miles (357 km), the other with 154 horsepower (115 kW) and a range of 250 miles (402 km). Both models offer 192 pound-feet (260 Newton-meters) of torque.

When it comes to charging, Opel claims the battery goes from 20 percent to 80 percent of its total capacity in just 30 minutes. Deliveries of the updated Opel Corsa series to customers in Europe will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.
