Under NGT lens, PMC exposed over claims of processing entire waste

The Pune Municipal Corporation claims of processing 100 percent of waste generated in the city. However, information from the Civic Solid Waste Management Department shows PMC getting rid of the unprocessed wet waste on agricultural land. In 2021, the National Green Tribunal fined the PMC Rs 2 crore after it failed to clear legacy waste.
