Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki says Korea is unlikely to reach the the government's economic growth target for this year.
Speaking before a parliamentary audit today, Hong said the on-going U.S.-China trade dispute and slowing global economy are making it difficult to achieve the government's growth target of between two-point-four and two-point-five percent.
His comments came after Standard & Poor's revised down its growth estimate for Korea to one-point-eight percent.
The macroeconomic research office AMRO has also painted a gloomy picture, forecasting Korea's economy to grow this year by two-point-one percent.
