Plant-Based Diets Can Help
Crohn's Disease-Sufferers,
Study Says Crohn's Disease is an inflammatory bowel disease affecting an estimated 780,000 Americans. A case study published in the journal Nutrients suggests that a plant-based diet can help alleviate symptoms. A male patient in his 20s abstained from animal products as part of a 40-day religious observation. He only ate fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes. During that time, he did not experience any symptoms of the disease. Hana Kahleov, Study author, via Bustle Although more research is needed, this could represent a breakthrough for Crohn's treatment.
