Innovative financing taskforce holds first meeting

A new joint task force of top officials from the government and financial institutions has announced concrete plans for President Moon's vision of "innovative finance."
In their first meeting today, the heads of major financial groups and banks set a goal of lending and investing a total of around 193 billion U.S. dollars.
From the banks, around 86 billion over the next three years, and from investment groups, 107 billion in the next five years.
Financial Services Commission Chairman Choi Jong-ku, who leads the taskforce, said innovative finance requires cooperation from the private sector, and considering the state of the economy, it's important to make the shift now.
