IOC snubs IOA over Dow sponsorship-NewsX

In a major snub to the victims of Bhopal, the International Olympic Committee has rejected the Indian Olympic Association's demand of removing Dow Chemical's as a sponsor. The IOC contends that Dow is not responsible for the Bhopal gas tragedy, and there is no reason for the Olympic body to reject a major sponsor based on wild accusations. This means that despite protests from India, and even opposition from in London, the host city for the 2012 Games, this year's Olympics will go ahead with Dow as the sponsor. In its first reaction to the snub, the Indian Olympic Association, has said that it will pursue the matter further with the IOC.
