'Star Trek' & 'MASH' Actor David Ogden Stiers Dies At 75

Actor/musician David Ogden Stiers died this week at age 75 from bladder cancer.

The Star Trek website is honoring the actor, who appeared on "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

Stiers played Dr. Timicin in the episode “Half a Life,” where his character must undergo a ritual suicide called "The Resolution."

This allows the elderly to pass on with dignity and not burden their children.

But Timicin falls in love with Deanna Troi’s mother, Lwaxana, and begins to question his culture.
