'M*A*S*H's David Ogden Stiers Remembered

Although a role can't define an actor, an actor can define a role. That's what David Ogden Stiers defined the role of M*A*S*H favorite Major Charles Emerson Winchester III. Stiers and the CBS drama's writers created a brilliant surgeon with a rather aloof disposition. Stiers died March 3 after a battle with bladder cancer.
The members of the M*A*S*H family remembered Stiers' as reclusive with a private nature balanced by his intelligence and classically trained talent.
