Russians participate in Maslenitsa tradition

Thousands of people gather in a snowy forest outside Moscow to celebrate the Eastern Slavic religious and folk holiday Maslenitsa. In addition to a tradition of dance and song, revelers storm a snow fortress, symbolizing the victory of spring over winter, and burn a Maslenitsa doll to signify the beginning of spring.
