Whirling Kalapas is a neo folk, alt-country, acoustic pop band. The band comprises of Uday Benegal, the front man of Indus Creed, multi-instrumentalist Sankarshan Kini and Ashwin Andrew, a bass guitarist trained in classic piano who loves to play drums. Each of them portray their diverse skills as musicians in their engaging performances that involve a
wide variety of instruments.
In 2014 they released their debut self-titled EP that featured guest performances by virtuoso percussionist Taufiq Qureshi, singers Suman Sridhar and Ankit Dayal, bassist Suresh Mendoza and drummer/percussionist Vivaan Kapoor.
Their music is cerebral and fun for the thinking listener who loves to dance. They have performed at a number of festivals around the country and are perfect for entertaining a
crowd that is looking for an engaging performance.
