Kaynine said, "It can be very useful and effective to turn your background into a 'panning' shot where it moves from one side of the frame to another.

One way to 'cheat' a walk cycle or character movement is to leave your character in one part of the screen, and move the background behind it.

But it can also be useful for movie credits or just as a way to set the scene for whatever happens next.

In Artoonix, panning CAN be done frame-by-frame but that is a very slow process. Tweening is faster - but you have to be careful to avoid 'wobbles'. "
