BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA — A Pennsylvania man has confessed to the murders of four young men, whom he buried in a mass grave on his family’s property.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that on July 5, Jimi Patrick disappeared in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Two days later, Dean Finocchiaro, Thomas Meo, and Mark Sturgis also went missing.
On the night he disappeared, license plate readers spotted Meo’s Nissan Maxima sedan tailing a pickup driven by Cosmo DiNardo. The next day, DiNardo tried to sell the sedan to a friend for $500.
According to the New York Times, police searching for the four men tracked Finocchiaro’s cellphone signal to the DiNardo farm, and found Sturgis’ Nissan Altima outside a shopping center down the road. Meo’s Nissan was recovered about a mile away from the farm, on a property owned by the DiNardos, and reportedly still contained the insulin kit Meo needed to survive.
DiNardo was initially arrested on a previously dismissed weapons charge. After posting bail, he was accused of stealing Meo’s car and again taken into custody.
Cadaver dogs led investigators to a 12-and-a-half foot deep mass grave on the farm, which contained several human remains, one of whom was confirmed to belong to Finocchiaro.
DiNardo later admitted to killing all four men. In exchange for the 20-year-old’s confession, prosecutors agreed to spare him the death penalty. Authorities have yet to reveal the killer’s motive for the murders, but an anonymous source claims he killed the four separately after selling them weed.
