Fire fight accross the Tigris River 1/2

We were getting back from a mission when we got hit by an IED (improvised explosive device) and we started receiving small arms fire from across the river. We received no casualties, one minor injury (self-inflicted) while we killed and arrested most of the insurgents. They were later identified as Baathist ex-military members, those same people who under Saddam Hussein executed and mistreated the Iraqi population for 30 years. That was back in 2006 however, and since then most of the Baathist members have been pardoned and taken back inside the new Democratically-elected Iraqi government. They are now our allies against the real enemy: islamic terrorists (50% of which come from Saudi Arabia, and many more from Iran along with government-funded weapons).
