Ol’ Man River - Paul and his Gang 1994
Paul Strandberg from Sweden plays trumpet and loves Bix Beiderbecke. He has build a reputation and has concentrated with his Gang to play much of the early Bix and his Gang recordings. In 1928 Bix recorded Ol’ Man River and Paul does a superb job recreating some of that feeling Bix brought across so many years ago.
In Paul’s team we hear Lars-Erik Strom on clarinet, Dymitr Markiewicz on trombone and in his rhythm group Jan Lundgren on piano, Jonas Eilert on sousaphone and Ragnar Tretow on the drums.
