Teacher ‘catfishing’ arrest: Virginia softball coach uses Facebook to catfish multiple students

Kyle Lynne Noro was sentenced on Monday to 15 years in prison after creating multiple false online identities to trick students into online relationships, according to a WAVY-TV report.
While employed at a Virginia Beach school in 2012 and 2013, the former softball coach and teacher's aide created at least 20 Facebook accounts, posing as various fake teenage boys in order to fool several female students. In order to maintain her fake identities, Noro reportedly bought multiple prepaid cell phones.
The 27-year-old went as far as to exchange sexually explicit photos with a 17-year-old.
Police eventually discovered what Noro had been up to in October of 2013.
“This case is a perfect example of the online predators that can threaten our community,” said Collin Stolle, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the city of Virginia Beach, according to the report. “Parents should continue to talk to their children and teenagers about online safety and encourage teens not to share information with people they don’t personally know. My office will continue to vigorously prosecute those who threaten our children online.”
