US consulate bomb scare: Suspected suicide car-bomber caught near US consulate in Istanbul, Turkey

The first pictures have emerged after police on Friday blocked the road leading to the US consulate in Istanbul, Turkey's largest city in response to a security scare. Reuters reports the consulate took taken precautionary measures and deployed bomb technicians to inspect a suspect car.

Turkey's Hurriyet Daily News reports a suspected would-be suicide bomber showing signs of mental illness was arrested by Turkish Special Forces and is being held.
