Popeye's Chicken and Waffle Tenders Road Trip! - Food Feeder

For a limited time only, Popeye's Chicken and Biscuits is offering "Chicken and Waffle Tenders." Far be it from us to pass up the opportunity to sample a dubious-sounding fast food item... This calls for a ROAD TRIP!!.

We're sure some of you are dubious about the very notion of chicken and waffles together on one plate, but we've got some devoted Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles fans around here. We piled into the car, and drove all the way to Hollywood, but then stopped about 4 blocks short of Roscoe's, at Popeye's. There you can get chicken and waffles together IN ONE BITE. Along with some sort of maple dipping sauce. Here's what we thought of Popeye's Chicken and Waffle Tenders!

Chicken Waffle Tenders are only available through June 29, so if you want to follow our shining example, time to plan a road trip of your own: http://goo.gl/1IN2g2

For those of you who don't follow every development in Fast Food Excess, the KFC Double Down is a fast food "sandwich" in which deep-fried chicken patties take the place of bread (an substitution that makes no sense at all, but we're not talking sense, we're talking KFC). The Double Down was only available for a limited time over a year ago. But IT'S BAAACK!!!

The Overlords of Tasted.com love feeding you guys what you love, and you love to watch us try foods for you, so that you don't have to (or so you can decide whether to run out and get some). Thus, we drove OVER ELEVEN MILES to Hollywood to try out Popeye's Chicken and Waffle Tenders.

Does chicken and waffles sound good to you? Does the fact that you can get all those flavors in a single bite make it more or less appetizing? Have you tried them? Are you on Team Maple Sauce, or Team No Maple Sauce? Any other weird fast food creations you think we should try out?

Let us know in the comments!!
