Monster from a Prehistoric Planet

(1967) Nikkatsu Corp.'s one and only entry in "Kaiju Eiga" is a conscious but affectionate parody of Japan's long-running monster movie genre and hits all the high notes from the de rigeur destruction of Tokyo à la Gojira to earthquake, tidal wave AND volcanic eruption, and finally Mommy and Daddy Monster coming to rescue their little kidnapped darling--shades of "Gorgo"! Good effects throughout, and a witty script. Fun for the kiddies!
