The world is waiting for the Sunrise - Dutch Swing College Band 1970.
In 1970 on the occassion of their 25th anniversary of the the D.S.C. a TV program was broadcasted. Unfortunately the master tape was lost and just recently someone somewhere found a copy obviously taped from this TV show. So folks, That’s all there is. I’m glad I was able to obtain a copy from that. Since the midfifties one of the feature tunes showing the wonderful double clarinet talents is played again. It used to be with Dim Kesber, who left the band in 1959. Now leader Peter Schilperoort together with Bob Kaper play a spectacular version of “The world is waiting for the Sunrise”
We also hear an exciting drum solo by Huub Janssen. The other members in the band were Arie Ligthart on guitar, Bert de Kort cornet, Dickie Kaart trombone and I believe Chris Smildiger on bass.
