Thailand drive-by shooting wounds two female defence volunteers

Two female territorial defence volunteers were critically injured in a drive-by shooting in Narathiwat province in southern Thailand on Wednesday (February 26).

According to the Bangkok Post, the attack occurred on a rural road in Ban Lamoh Nok in Rueso distract at about 11 a.m. The two volunteers, Saisuda Kongchon and Patcharee Ubonphakdee were travelling on a motorcycle when attackers riding another motorcycle approached them and fired at them with a handgun. The attackers then fled the scene.

One of the women was wounded in the right hip and right leg while the other was wounded in the right hip, according to the Post Today. Police said separatist militants were responsible for the attack.
