Indian gay rights activists protest court decision

Hundreds of gay rights activists gathered in New Delhi on Sunday to protest the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold a law that criminalises gay sex.
India’s top court reversed a 2009 landmark lower court order that had decriminalised “homosexual acts” earlier this week, a ruling that evoked anger and dismay across the country.
Similar protests were organised in cities across India as groups of gay and human rights activists urged a rollback of the court’s decision.
