Trace DNA in unflushed feces reveals thief identity

After plundering over $1,000 worth of gaming equipment and clothing from an Oklahoma City residence, 20-year-old Charles Marqull Williams relieved himself in the bathroom, leaving behind self-identifying DNA in his feces and toilet paper.

Williams ransacked the home for all cash and electronics, then doused down beds and TVs with laundry detergent. And to top it off, he took a dump in the bathroom. His load was left unflushed, and the floor was also smattered with his poop and used toilet paper.

Jimitra Salazar and her two children found their home vandalized. They flushed down Williams' feces , but the TP was sent in for analysis. Any dislodged tissues or cells can provide the DNA needed for the job. Court papers confirmed that the DNA matched Williams' and on October 2, Williams was charged with first-degree burglary. He is currently held in the Oklahoma County jail.
