Egyptian army tries to end mosque siege peacefully

The Egyptian army, which late on Friday surrounded the al-Fath mosque in central Cairo, has entered the building to negotiate with supporters of arrested President Mohammed Morsi who took refuge inside.

Eyewitnesses say there may be 1000 people inside, who fled Friday's violence and who came under siege from supporters of the army, and barricaded themselves in.
