ZIVIYEH CASTLE
We visited the Ziviyeh Castle on 9.4.2013. It is located some 55 km of south east of Iranian city Saghez (Saqiz), near the village of the same name on the top of a hill. Historians believe that the remains of this castle belong to Manaian age of 8th century BC.
The Ziviyeh Hoard (or Treasure) is a treasure hoard containing gold, silver, and ivory objects, also including a few Luristan pieces, that was accidently uncovered in Ziwiyeh village in 1947. These objects provide a link between the cultures of the Iranian plateau and the Scythian art forms known as the "animal style".
