In 1999, Mathias meets Joris. After a collaboration in a reggae band, they associate themselves to play dub and share their love of reggae and electro music… They give their first live in an associative place in 2006. It sounds like a revelation for them and their public… They want some more and to feel it again and again… Mahom births !
The duo becomes a trio when Antoine takes part of the Mahom’s project in 2008. His work as sound engineer brings a new dimension to the universe of the group.
Show after Show, they manage to impose their style: a jerky drum, spicy riddims and hovering effects! Their melodies are a mix of their influences (roots, world and ethno music, electro…) and are directly inspired by Nature. They are often minimalist to allow evasion of the listener. However, Mahom doesn’t hesitate to produce sounds more brutal and conquerant to make his public move.
The work of the three friends gives birth in 2011 to a first release (Underground Dubwise) at the crossroads of their various influences and rich of featuring with artists encountered on the road during different lives. You can download it on the website of Original Dub Gathering. Their second release, Dub by Sub, is also available on ODG since october 2012. They appeared in compilation projects in France and abroad (Dub Tentacles vol. 3, Cinco Ciclos De Lluvia Girando ) with artists like: Panda Dub, Dawa Hifi, Weeding Dub… One of there track, “Bamba” is now available on a 12″ from Amoul Bayi records.
At the end of 2012, Mathias chose to leave Mahom for personal reasons. Joris and Antoine change all the live to produce a new set more powerfull and still full of bass !
The priority for Mahom has always been simple: have and give some fun. Therefore, their riddims constantly evolve to surprise their audience
