Le château de Fontainebleau, dont les premières mentions remontent au XIIème siècle, a reçu en ses murs tous les souverains importants de France. Sans cesse agrandi et embelli par leurs soins, il est un exemple unique d’une résidence aimée et régulièrement habitée pendant huit siècles. Le château s’inscrit dans un environnement végétal de 30 hectares de jardins prolongés par un parc de 80 hectares situés au cœur de la forêt domaniale qui constituait le territoire de chasse de cette ancienne propriété royale.
