A shelter dog in the UK has spent nearly two years without a loving human family. Named Biscuit, the former stray arrived at the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in Berkshire in early 2013.

Since then, more than 49 hundred other dogs that stayed at the facility have been adopted. That means almost 5,000 potential families have likely seen Biscuit and possibly interacted with him, but did not take him home.

Biscuit is now the ‘longest-serving’ pet resident at all of Battersea’s three locations. The poor dog been at the shelter 22 times longer than the average canine.

What makes the constant rejection trend baffling is that Biscuit is a good-looking pooch with a playful and fun personality. He gets along good with other dogs and his tail is usually always wagging unless he’s exhausted.

The manager of the facility in Old Windsor commented “..he's such a beautiful ..dog who would fit in perfectly with a family. Every day we hope someone will call us wanting to meet him, but poor Biscuit is constantly rejected and hasn't had any interest.”

February of 2015 will be two years since he stopped living on the streets. He’s now staying with a foster family, but the goal is to find the 2 and a half year old canine a forever home as soon as possible.
