STORY: The cast and crew of 'The Great Gatsby', the Cannes film festival's opening movie, arrived for their first official function at the festival - a photo-call followed by a news conference in front of the world's press. Acting talent, Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher, Tobey Maguire, Amitabh Bachchan and of course Gatsby himself, Leonardo DiCaprio, joined their director Baz Luhrmann at the festival's palace. DiCaprio who teamed up again with Luhrmann for this project after he achieved great success with the movie "Romeo and Juliet'', described the director as inspiring. Meanwhile Luhrmann spoke about the reaction to the original book's author, F. Scott Fitzgerald who first had it published in 1925, with one critic labelling him a clown. "The Great Gatsby" will open the festival this evening (May 15).
