Great credit must go to Lee Tai-hsiang ( born Feb. 20, 1941) for his achievements throughout this astonishing album ... he and Chyi were surely destined to meet and create such a masterpiece.

The lyricist was Hou Dejian, and the story behind the lyrics is in itself remarkable. In Lee Tai-hsiang's words "At first, the song was not created for the style of love songs, and after it was done, I did not think the song was qualified and good. Thus, I threw it to trash can. At the time, a friend visited and picked it (the song) up from trash can. She played and sang a little. On the instant I thought the song was actually okay. Thus, we two cooperated and composed this love song."

Chyi was born on October 17, 1957 in Taichung, Taiwan, the elder sister of Taiwanese singer-songwriter Chyi Chin齊秦. She studied at National Taiwan University Department of Anthropology, and was one of the leading lights in the Taiwan Campus Folk Movement. Countryside Paths was her award-winning first recording in 1978, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI17lWi5q7E One of her many ventures outside music was in 1997, when she was invited to serve as the "World Vision" 1997 Hunger Ambassador, on behalf of Taiwan Asia, going to Africa to visit refugees.

In 2002, Chyi converted to Buddhism, following a trip to Tibet. She then released four albums featuring Buddhist chants. "If pop music can sooth people's moods, then spiritual music can comfort our souls." Known for her signature Bohemian style of dressing, Chyi has also been described as "China's Enya" Nowadays, she lives in Beijing with her rock-star turned pop-singer younger brother Chyi Chin. They sing a wonderful live version of "You are all my Memories" on You Tube.

Translation and Pinyin lyrics
The rain falls in the wind, the wind blows in the rain.
( Yǔ zài fēng zhòngfēng zài yǔ li )
Your image flickers in my mind
( Nǐ de yǐngzi zài wǒ nǎohǎi yáoyè )
The rain cannot stop the wind and the wind cannot stop the rain.
( Yǔ xià bù tíng fēng fēngchuī bùduàn yǔ )
But when the wind and rain stop, I cannot stop thinking of you.
( Fēng jìng yǔ tíng réng huī bù qù xiǎngniàn de nǐ )
Looking at the drizzling rain, I can't see you.
( Kàn xiǎoyǔ yáoyè kàn bù dào nǐ de shēnyǐng )
Listening to the wind humming, I can't hear you.
( Tīng wéifēng dī yín tīng bù dào nǐ de shēngyīn )
My eyes do not watch, my ears do not hear
( Yǎnjīng bù kàn ěr duǒ bù tīng )
You are all my memories.
( Nǐ shì wǒ suǒyǒu de huíyì.... )
