A plane crashed on Sunday (May 05) into a hangar and exploded, killing its pilot during an airshow in Madrid.

The 34-year-old pilot was identified as Ladislao T.R, a commander who took part in operations in Libya, Spanish media said.

T.R was flying a vintage 1950s HA-200 Saeta at an aerial acrobatics show at Cuatrovientos airfield when the plane dived.

Witnesses said the aircraft dived after hitting power lines, prompting panic among the 3,000 spectators.
