Every year from December to March, Hakodate is covered in a blanket of white snow making for a beautiful winter scene.
There are three ski resorts near Hakodate. You can enjoy powder snow and spectacular scenery.
One unique feature of Hakodate is its monkeys. At the botanical garden, a hot spring is prepared for the monkeys. Monkeys look adorable when they are taking a bath.
Various winter events are held and many tourists come to visit.
The night view is more brilliant in winter because the snow reflects the light.
