This film was shown in the White House and it also caused riots in the black community. It gave a great boost to the Klu Klux Klan.It is considered to be the first feature film and it established most of the rules for filmmakers. A masterpiece, but blatantly racist. D.W. Griffith was a genius in his field, but like most white americans of his time, he believed that all men were created equal (except black men).
