They've scored hit after hit single with songs like "Kiss You".

But now it's One Direction's turn to be kissed -- or at least their waxworks, which have been unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London.

Dozens of screaming teenage fans jumped next to the wax figures of their icons, and weren't shy about planting their lips on them either.

SOUNDBITE: 15-year-old One Direction fans, Lisa and Ruby, saying (English):

RUBY: "It was probably the closest I'm going to get to kissing Harry, and it was a really good experience and I really enjoyed it and hopefully I'll be able to kiss Harry."

LISA: "You're probably the first person to ever kiss that thing's cheek as well."

RUBY: "I know. I'll go down in history. It was really, really good."

The figures are the first boyband to be immortalised by Madame Tussauds since The Beatles in 1964.

Each figure cost around £150,000 to make each, involving 40 people working for four months non-stop.
