Located 10 km south of Avignon, the Château Noël Saint-Laurent sees its origins back to the late 13th century. Simple fortified farm at the beginning, its vocation was to provide shelter for pilgrims en route to Santiago de Compostela. During the middle age, the Popes in Avignon will entrust the management of the area to Carthusian monks who will develop the vineyards on the surrounding hills. The wines produced are destined to the papal court of Avignon very fond of this beverage.
Since the late 1940’s the Noël family maintains with respect and know how this centuries old wine growing tradition in order to pass it on to future generations.
Didier Noël manages the estate when Brigitte is the winemaker. She is also the President of the “Companions of the Côtes du Rhône”. Brigitte and Didier are animated by a shared passion for creating wines from sustainable agriculture.
