Palestinians bury dead youth, prisoner

Hundreds of Palestinians attend a funeral procession in Hebron for a prisoner whose death rapidly raised tensions in the Palestinian territories.

62-year-old Maysara Hamdeya died from cancer in an Israeli jail on Tuesday - a symbolic military funeral was held for him in Gaza.

Palestinians accuse Israelis of withholding care from Hamdeya - who was serving a life sentence for a planned attack on a Jerusalem cafe in 2002.

This Hebron resident says Israel should be taken to the International Criminal Court for its occupation of the Palestinian lands.

He adds that day after day his people are dying and their land is being taken.

The incident led to an upsurge of violence in the occupied West Bank.

On the same day that Hamdeya was buried, another funeral procession took place in Anabta in West Bank for two Palestinian teenagers killed by Israeli troops.

Israel says the 17- and 18-year-old were shot after they threw a fire bomb at a guard post.
