South Korea urges North to end provocation

South Koreans paid tribute to the 46 sailors who died during the 2010 sinking of the navy ship Cheonan.
Three years have passed since the event, but the wounds have not healed. (mourners crying)
South Korea blames the North for the sinking, saying they torpedoed the ship - a charge Pyongyang denies.
President Park Geun-hye urged its neighbour to end its provocation and threats.
(SOUNDBITE) (Korean) SOUTH KOREAN PRESIDENT PARK GEUN-HYE:
"North Korea should drop its nuclear weapons, missiles, provocations and threats and become a responsible member of the international society. This is the only way the north can survive."
The sinking of the Cheonan heightened tensions between the two nations who are still technically at war since the 1950-53 Korean War ended only in an armistice.
South Korea's Defence Ministry on Tuesday said it would retaliate against further North Korean provocation.
