Sophia Dion is 12 years old and a singer and songwriter, born and raised in Park City, UT. Sophia developed a passion for music at a very young age; she started singing at the age of 3 and performing at age 7. At age 10, Sophia began taking guitar lessons and knew immediately it was her instrument of choice. Musically inclined, she also plays stand up bass, piano, and ukulele.
Her musical influences are KT Tunstall, Ingrid Michaelson, and Sara Bareilles. Sophia has participated in productions at Egyptian Theater, Park City Glee, University of Utah Youth Theater, and Mountain Town Music. She has studied at London School of Guitar, Lee Music and Dance Tech Studios. Sophia has played many local venues throughout the state of Utah, including the Fender Lounge at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival when she was just 11 years old. She also performed at the 2011 Deer Valley Summer Concert series and has performed at various venues during the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, including Koffeehouse at Sundance along with some of the top 2012 indie artists like Collective Soul, Tyler Hilton, Stephanie Quayle, Adam Gaynor of Matchbox 20, and Shawn Hook just to name a few.
