Wistful Whisper is a guitar duo consisting of two friends with a love for music. It all started in 2004 when Migael and Dennis became friends while attending the same high school. They started a punk rock band called two steps back where Dennis played the drums and did vocals and Migael played bass. Both had a love for acoustic guitar and soon started jamming acoustically when the punk rock band decided to part ways after school.
In 2008 they started recording their first album as an acoustic duo, they both did vocals, but their sound only matured into what it is today after they became familiar with bands like Rodrigo Y Gabriella and CH2. In 2009 they went of to Johannesburg to study sound engineering at The Acadamey of Sound Engineering . They specialized in music production, (Dennis also did post production).
While living together they jammed as much as they could and soon started writing intrumental only songs. Their first composition "Count Me In" would spark a love for classical guitar music and soon after that they started recording some demo's. In 2011 they moved back to Secunda were they worked part time with a video/photo business as well as starting their own recording company but decided to end their busniess and concentrate on their music career.
Throughout 2009 to 2012 they have played various gigs in and around Johannesburg, Pretoria and Secunda and they even had the oppertunity to gig with guitar legend Tombstone Pete while on vacation in Cape Town. In January 2012 they finally recorded a full length album in their home studio and released it in March 2012.
Both memebers are also part of a part-time rock band called "Reasonable Man" where Migael plays the bass and Dennis plays guitar and does the lead vocals. Currently they are seeking representation and oppertunites to further their music career as a guitar duo.
Their music has been described as Mexican, Spanish and Latin. Neither memebers have had any formal musical training, they are self taught and spend a lot of time defining their unique sound.
