PRESENTED BY AMANDA MUIRHEAD
The Peaks came together by chance on a back porch in December, 2012. They enjoy pushing the boundaries of genre in Latin, jazz, bluegrass, funk, and everywhere in between. Thomas Kenney's innovative jazz guitar style gives nods to both Bill Frisell and John Scofield. Adam Coyne's solid, charging rhythm guitar is a perfect compliment to Thomas's eccentric lead. The two have been making music together for three years and have a knack for reading each others minds. Percussionist Lindsey Sydow loves exploring and combining world rhythms from Latin America, the Carribean, Africa and India. Brad Poplin's bass style brings a mix of punk and bluegrass to the quartet's distinct sound. The Peaks are brand new to the scene, and they will continue to develop progressive original improvisation within the undefinable space that is music.
