A spokeswoman for Carrie Fisher says the actress was briefly hospitalised for treatment of her bipolar disorder.
It came after video appeared online showing an erratic performance by Fisher aboard a Caribbean cruise ship.
The spokeswoman added that Fisher's medication was adjusted and that the 56-year-old was feeling much better.
Best known as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, Fisher has also battled drug and alcohol abuse, which she chronicled in her 2009 memoir entitled 'Wishful Drinking'.
