The Black Stalks formed from the ashes of one band (Sixmilewater - where Joseph McSweeney laid down the bass lines allied to the searing and soulful guitarlines of Colm O'Mahony) and the bones of another (Mamyko, where Colin Murray bangs the drums and Mike spins wondrous melodies), and started to slowly pull together as a cohesive, dynamic and well versed unit capable of wowing live audiences. The past few years have seen sporadic appearances at festivals, events and self arranged gigs - while in the background the songs have continued to effortlessly roll out. The band will treat 2013 as the year to build a record - a home for all their carefully woven music created over the previous couple of years. So if it's music to move the mind and feet, put your faith in The Black Stalks!
