South Korea's first female president has been sworn in during a ceremony in Seoul.

Park Geun-Hye used the occasion to call on North Korea to stop wasting its resources on military weapons and laid emphasis on an interest in dailogue with North Korea.

She has also promised to revive and “democratise” the economy but this has been met by some skepticism.

Al Jazeera's Harry Fawcett reports from Seoul.
