UZI RAMIREZ - TALKING A BOMB BLUES

PRESENTED BY RONI GOVER

Uzi Ramirez is an iconic musician in the Israeli indie scene. A devil guitar picker, a member of Israeli bands Boom Pam and the Ramirez Brothers. Uzi lives in Jaffa and performs all over the country and over the world. Uzi was a member of Boom Pam, a Balkan-rock band, signed to Essay Recordings in Frankfurt and has toured the world extensively, playing in Europe, U.S.A, Canada, Mexico and Africa in clubs and festivals. While in Boom Pam, Uzi formed The Ramirez Brothers with 2 friends. A trumpet-guitar-drums trio that plays funk and blues. With one album and 2 E.P.s they gained recognition and acclaim in Israel's indie scene.

In 2010, he released his first solo album, "Lick My Heart", which he composed, wrote and produced. With a heavy Americana sound, this album was recorded using all analog technology and mastered in Nashville by Richard Dodd (George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Freddy Mercury and more). The album seamlessly fuses Folk, Blues, Funk, Rock n' Roll with touches of modern classical music. His influences are very clear with his voice which is highly reminiscent of Bob Dylan and Lou Reed. To back up the album, Uzi has formed a new band with two of Israel's most in demand musicians. Each show brings new interpretations to the songs, often sliding into long explosive psychedelic-blues rock jams.

Currently Uzi is working on his second solo album, expected to be released in 2012 and is already playing new material from the upcoming album in his shows.
